Taking Back Sunday

I had forgotten what it means to be smiling since I’m truly happy and in love with what I’m doing. To be back on the road, riding my bike, with friends.

The last week was hectic, I had tests back to back. There’s more waiting for me the coming week. It came to a point where I couldn’t take it no more.

Back in Bahrain, when I was a kid, I used to press my face on the back seat window in my Dad’s car when a gang of crotch rocket bikers zip in and stop all around us at the signal. I used to look at them in awe, the shiny helmets, the colours and size of their bikes, the biking gears always left me speechless. I always wondered what it felt like to be in their shoes. And when the signal turns green, how they would get to the other end of the road and disappear by the time my dad shifts his gear to drive from neutral.

Yesterday’s ride recharged my cells. I looked around and all I could see was yellow, red and black. We flew around the city, sweeping curves and burning rubber. And when I saw a kid look at me, my bike from a car’s back seat today, all I could do was just smile. Of-course, he couldn’t see me smile, since I had my visor down.  And I cannot help but wonder when he is going to be doing this, and if the guy on the blue bike had smiled at me, back in 1998.

I typed H A P P I N E S S after a long time. It feels good.

Happiness. It is like a bald eagle. More rare in some places than others, sometimes mistaken for other things & overlooked. Thought by the unfortunate many to be going extinct.

Its not a novelty, I’ve learned to look up at the sky more often.

Hey there! Ru has been a little busy for a while, so he is averaging about a blog every moon cycle or so. If you are lucky, you'll get to see a new blog entry and know what he's upto. And when you are here, just let him know by leaving a comment.

I like your quote

“Happiness. It is like a bald eagle. More rare in some places than others, sometimes mistaken for other things & overlooked.”

Stay happy
