I’m writing this from the internet cafe next to my hostel. Its 3 pm & I’m locked out of my room.
I left college in a hurry today; Attended one hour of class and bunked rest of the hours, finally out of the campus during lunch before the special day functions start. Its some sort of Ethnic day today and we were all asked to go in our traditional dresses. Back in kerala, the traditional dress for men would be a 5 meter long unstitched cloth around their waist! (I rather get shot than wear it!). I’ve never had the chance to learn how to wear that thing for I was born and brought up in Bahrain. Then again, I have never really mastered the white dress that Arabic men wear either!! (not that I was going to wear it to college even if I could!) - Finally decided to go along MY tradition. which is ofcourse, Urban Tradition. =)
I’m waiting for my room mate to come from college and let me into my own room, so that I can get on the next bus to my sisters new Apartment. Forgot to mention her big move, didn’t I? - I was at my sister during the last weekend and I helped her move to her new apartment, which is just AWESOME!; with 24×7 security, club house, gym, playground (my niece, Evie is thrilled about this), volleyball court, basketball court, tennis court, swimming pools and even a jacuzzi! It is on the fifth floor (ahem! somebody is scared of heights) and has 4 Balconies. You can see the whole of Bangalore from there. The airport, the lake and lots!
Last weekend, we survived on 8 boxes of pizza since we failed to notice that the movers even packed our microwave!! Moved everything on Saturday night, and moved to new house on Sunday morning. I left her that evening on my brother-in-law’s brother’s motorcycle. It was my first ride since I left Cochin; tho short, it brought so many memories back as we zigzagged through Bangalore traffic over 80kms/hr & that too, in the rain! - I just can’t wait till I buy my ride in Bangalore.!
About college, we had our first official fight a couple days ago & I was in the middle of it! A boy in class spoke really rude to our physics lecturer during an hour (I don’t like the teacher either) and the lecturer walked out! (man! college is starting to look a lot like school already) Anyway, half the class wanted to beat the boy and his brother up , but I couldn’t help but walk straight into the fight and take sides with the twins. People say that teachers are just like gods (say what?); As a person, I really don’t like him. I’m not giving all the details of that day because I don’t want to drag all of this & my new bad-boy-gang into my blog, but I just wanted to say this, - I might not agree with what they have done, but I support & defend their right of free speech. See, I put into practice what I write on my blog. Gawd, I miss MY biker gang back home in Cochin. Rosh keeps me updated all the time tho.
Speaking of blog, My site is pretty famous amongst friends & it feels great to know that you walk into a room full of people who know that you are not in sync with their theory of god.
I was not able to attend the functions and cultural competitions in college this after noon, but my friend just send me an SMS from college auditorium that that “my special someone” has just delivered a speech. (god! I missed it! she might have had kept it a surprise for me! Why did I have to bunk??!!!!!)
I’ll tell you about this special person in an upcoming blog. I don’t know whats happening inside me but I feel so great now that she is my friend. All that I can think about is my new best friend. Must call her after I get to my sister’s place. No questions please. Peace out.
