Hello World,
After two months of hard work and study, my first website & journal is finally up and running! The domain was registered with Godaddy & The web-log is powered by WordPress as a blogging and content management tool(CMS). Other parts of the website runs on traditional HTML & C.S.S based pages. I’m still working on complete integration of the website and blog to have a seamless effect.
There has been immense amount of work going on behind the scenes. I had to change my webhost twice & its now proudly hosted on HostGator along side sister sites TheJesusMyth & AAUPC on our server.
Starting out.
The main reasons for making my own website comes from a variety of reasons. The primary reason, like I mentioned in the about page, is that there is nothing called free speech on the Internet’s many social sites. I’ve had many attempts to speak my mind on other blogging & social sites but it is never good enough when it comes to serious matters like religion & faith. But here I am, on my own turf, to be with friends and speak our minds. Then again, its about time I made one for myself.
Design & Coding.
The current theme is actually my 3rd custom adaptation of The iTheme designed by N.DesignStudio. I call it “Hybrid Theory” since it is a mix between ideas taken from both iTheme & Vikiwork’s Eggin’ Theme & a couple of my own. It reflects who I am, and you see the background image littered with exactly the same things as thats on my desk right now. I made two earlier themes, Phoenix Red & Phoenix Ice, but they had to be put away since my taste for color and features kept changing. It took alot of thinking, hours of searching, countless hours in front of PhotoShop to come up with something that feels just right. Of course, you can see what I mean in the change log1.
Other Techi stuff.
There are countless number of plugins & gizmos powering the wordpress section of the website. My most favorite ones are NextGenGallery & Lightbox Effect on the site & Snoop that runs on my desktop & it gives me real time visitor detail like emails, IPs and much more.
